Sewing

Happy Blogtoberfest! Here's to a month of blog devotion... of writing and of reading.
What better way to start, than a full day of sewing...and even better...with my sewing "partner in crime", at her place, away from the distractions of housework!

I finished this quilt top off...
It's for Minky and was started *ahem* quite a while ago.

Marisew and I have decided that each time we get together to sew we will spend about half an hour practising free motion quilting.
Tucked away in her stash was this great swirl patterned fabric and we had a go at following the swirls.
This didn't turn out too bad and it's true that it take quite a bit of practice to get your hands moving the quilt at an even speed,  while keeping up the speed on the presser foot at the same time. It's going to be a while before I'll be doing any on items for swaps, but I'm definitely going to have a go at daisies on the border of Minky's quilt.

This is the first of my Blogtoberfest 2012 posts.
For a lovely overdose of blogging,  here's the link for other participants.

thanks for taking a peek over the fence...

  4. Congrats on finishing, it looks great!
Free motion is tricky hey, but like anything, the more you practice the easier it is - so you'll be a pro in no time :)
I've been snooping through the links you gave me - oh the temptation! I'm going to have to be very strict and just get what I need.
