Just a quick post to let you know of another of

Closing on 6 March, so go on over and have a look.

***************************

This site is one I often waste hours at visit periodically.
There are cute little thumbnails that let you see what lovely prizes could be coming your way.

I really must get going and do something constructive now...

Stash

I promised myself I wasn't going to buy anymore material - I don't want the MATH to start making sarcastic comments of the "opening a fabric shop are we?" kind.
However, what's a girl to do when Peg's Pieces at Kirrawee is hosting a meet Saffron Craig and drool over her fabrics day? Any guesses as to where I was on Friday?

These lovelies jumped into my hand:
Perfect for another one of these bags. Sadly, I couldn't take all of them home - er...look what I already have at home for two other projects that haven't been started yet either.

(The solids are Kona cottons).
At the moment all I do is stack them up to look at!
And there is more coming...a postcard of Saffron's new range...
...that fabric shop in the sewing room is looking more and more likely!!!

Peg's Pieces is a little slice of button heaven too...since I've got a bit of a postcard obsession going, I can see the potential for these buttons...
...not to mention for the mug rug swap I just couldn't resist signing up for!

My Creative Space...Postcard sized

This week I am playing with postcard sized pieces.

Tiny hearts
 Tiny leaves
 Tiny butterfilies

I even printed my own background fabric.

I have almost finished it, and I don't know who my swap partner is yet...that NEVER happens...what an odd feeling it is...organised...prepared...I don't think I can even pronounce those words!

*SCREAM*

Hope that didn't hurt your ears...but that's what I've did this morning when the courier arrived...um...and last week when the other courier arrived...

with this...

A gen-yew-ine CurlyPops iphone cover...I'm walking around with a *silly grin* on my face... I just LOVE it!

and this...

The parcel that was the impulse buy ( I know - I'm a bad little Australian, but sometimes that $AUD is just too tempting!). What's making me so HAPPY is that the prints co-ordinate so well.

The are all from different collections, but they just GO together exactly how I want them to for making this pattern that I got a few weeks ago. Hawthorne Threads little fabric colour matcher works!

I've been slowly making the swap items for Sew It Together in March. The badge was mailed a day or two ago, so it should arrive at it's home shortly. I'll post a pic of the finished nametag in a day or too.

(PS sorry about the funny test post that may have appeared earlier - I downloaded that wretched windows live writer - and I still don't think I want to use it. One time I used Word 2007 to post,  thought it was brilliant and it hasn't worked since! and it's giving me the pip. I'll have to get InHouse IT Guy to look at it...)

Something for somebody...

Today I mailed something...to...somebody.

It has some piecing and quilting, some stem stitch, a charm...
...even some paisley.

Do you wonder who I mailed it to???

Exuses, excuses...

In the last post I moaned, whined, explained that I missed having more time to make things and post about what I've been doing.

There have been two birthdays in the house - Minky turned 14 *gasp* and the Boy about the House just turned 19 *eek*. There must be some mistake  - they were giggling, grinning and cooing in baby photos just the other day. I really want those children back, these ones aren't the ones I ordered from the catalogue! Apparently there is no warranty either - who'd a thunk?

I worked 4 days this week as well, which really eats into 'free time' - usually by the time I get home and do the family stuff that is needed to keep a household from falling into rack and ruin, I'm too tired to think, let alone lift a needle.
Last weekend I did manage to finish  this block,

to send off for Quilts for Queensland, and I have pinned the drunkards path (that I mentioned here) so that  actually looks like it's meant to...now to find the energy to lift that needle...and send them off quick smart!

Even more sad, I have missed seeing my friends new baby...her Brother Innovis QC 1000...shocking! Hope to visit the proud Mumma soon...

My Creative Space

A quick look at what is all over the sewing table for the SIT swap in March.
I have 5 to make and, surprisingly, I'm not feeling any pressure (could be because and the deadline is 6 weeks away!). I made my own pattern and even made a sample first! I'm getting kinda good at production line...
It's great fun making them, but it's been hard to find a good long stretch of time to get into the sewing room in the last 2 weeks. Hopefully it will only improve from here...

My Creative Space...Jaffas, Bananas and BBQ chips

Mmmm...I'm a bit partial to jaffas and bananas. Not just the lovely sweet taste, but the colours too - orange, brown and yellow...can you see where this is going?
Yes, I'm not just eating stuff for My Creative Space...it's more like putting the colours together...
Could this be your name tag for Sew It Together Sydney 2011???

This is a screen shot of Canterbury NSW weather station, to show that I'm not exaggerating.
The grass is crispy and crunches when I walk on it.

This fern was all green this morning, now only this little bit has lived to tell the tale. It was well watered, but the hot dry air just saps all the moisture from the fronds.

Yes it is HOT in Sydney, but I’m not complaining.
Everyone here is too hot to argue or want anything so I have a fan on and am having a fun hiding in the sewing room and finishing some January projects.
First, I have sent Linda of Living the Dream her table runner prize.
That's it toasting on the line to have it's photo taken.
I enclosed some heat from the Aussie sun and I bet the parcel will still be crispy hot and sizzling when it arrives in France.
Two sewing caddys are heading off to GumTree Quilters for New Beginnings...

I was unsure what to do to make a scissor keep and then had a brain wave! Leona had sent me a whole lot of granny squares and I sewed two together with a matching cord.
This one has a dark and light green to match the green floral caddy, and the and the other has pink and blue.
Thanks Leona, I hope you like the idea of contributing to the sewing packs for quilters affected by floods in Queensland and Victoria.

Annette and Jody, an Australian Mother and Daughter designer pair, have a free online magazine that they are promoting. Click over here to have a read.
I like the newsletter, it's got lots of bits of interesting things, and you might like it too, so go check it out...did I mention that it is FREE.

thanks for taking a peek over the fence...
p.s it's stillC 27.7°C here so wish me luck trying to sleep tonight
